Job Description

A retail business analyst job entails conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses including customer behavior, retail trends, etc. The role involves assisting with program development that supports corporate timelines.

The chief responsibilities of a retail business analyst include assisting with new client implementation, providing analytical support to maximize product performance, conducting merchandising and financial analysis, and making recommendations. Assisting in managing outside vendors, maximizing system functionality, creating tracking reports for promotional activities, coordinating with various departments for business development initiatives.

Roles and Responsibility

A retail business analyst is responsible for identifying and predicting sales trends; they also look at spending trends and help mall managers determine which stores would be more profitable. A retail analyst's work includes controlling a store's inventory. Retail analysts may look at what marketing campaigns result in more sales. A retail analyst may serve as a liaison with the off-site warehouse facilities.




To apply for a retail business analyst job, a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is required. A candidate should have previous retail business processes and retail systems experience. Effective communication, computer, analytical, customer service, and project management skills are also important.
